Governor Markell will sign civil union law in Wilmington

Governor Markell visits Wilmington early this evening to sign legislation that will legalize same-sex civil unions in Delaware.

The bill received final legislative approval last month in the House of Representatives.  The measure will take effect January 1st 2012.  Three other states also allow same-sex civil unions, while five states allow people of the same sex to marry.  The Governor will sign the bill during a celebration this evening at World Cafe Live at the Queen, 5th and Market Streets.
