Police make arrest in one Germantown homicide, seek suspects in another

Philadelphia police continue to search for suspects in Friday’s deadly shooting in the East Germantown section of the city, but have made an arrest in connection to another neighborhood murder from the day before.

At 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 21, officers responded to the 6300 block of Homer St. after receiving a report that someone had a gun at the location. There, they found Charles Haines, 43, of Pennsburg, Pa., lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound to the head. Medics pronounced him dead on the scene at 8:19 p.m.

The motive behind the murder is unknown, police said.

In an unrelated case, police arrested Shaquel Galloway, 18, of the 1300 block of E. Rittenhouse St. in connection with the murder of Shawn Bibbs, 19, of the 800 block of East Stafford St.
