Firefighter hurt, four displaced in Del. house fire

A firefighter was injured and four people were displaced when a two-alarm fire in a Wilmington rowhouse spread to two other homes.

The fire was reported about 2:30 a.m. Saturday on North Monroe Street. Firefighters arrived to find the back of one house fully engulfed in flames. Officials say it took firefighters around an hour to bring the blaze under control.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports that a firefighter who suffered a back injury was treated and released at Christiana Hospital.

The three affected homes were condemned. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
