The Many Faces of George Washington

Saturday, February 16 and Sunday, February 17, 3pm. Portrait Gallery in the Second Bank of the United States, 420 Chestnut Street. Celebrate Presidents Day (and George Washington’s upcoming birthday) with a special Ranger-led tour the gallery’s many portraits of Washington. The Portrait Gallery also features a portrait of Martha Washington and many of Washington’s friends and contemporaries. The gallery’s fabulous collection a statue of Washington by William Rush and many paintings by Charles Wilson Peale.

Presidents Day Weekend Celebration

Saturday, February 16, 9:30am-6pm; Sunday, February 17 and Monday, February 18 9:30am-5pm. National Constitution Center, 525 Arch Street. It’s a presidential bonanza at the Constitution Center this weekend complete with Presidential Trivia, presidentially-themed crafts, lessons about the office of the President, alonside reenactors milling through the crowd. Bantaba: The Circle of Celebration

Sunday, February 17 2pm. Free Library, Parkway Central, Montgomery Auditorium, 1901 Vine Street. This Sundays on Stage family-friendly cultural features a performance from Seventh Principle, whose shows blend traditional African dance, drumming, and call-and-response, with contemporary African-American dance. Free.
