Express EZ Pass set to be installed at Walt Whitman Bridge

Paying to drive on the Walt Whitman Bridge will become easier, just not for some time.

Express EZ Pass is set to be added to the bridge but not until 2014.

The Washington Township Times reports the pass is heading to the toll plaza, but only after a $140 million re-decking project is completed.

According to the report, the concept plan for the project has already been completed, with requests for proposals to bid set to be sent out by 2012.

The Delaware River Port Authority, which operates the bridge, has said design work is expected to be completed in 2013 with construction set for 2013 or 2014.
