EMAN Tree Recycling Jan. 6

Help the environment and support East Mt. Airy Neighbors on January 6 from 1 till 4 p.m. by bringing your Christmas tree to our “Tree Cycling” event. Trees will be collected at Gabbie’s Community Garden on Chew Ave. just below Mt. Airy Ave. They’ll be chipped and turned into mulch for community garden use. The City regards these trees as trash, and they end up as landfill. So much better to have them continue to be useful after they’ve served us during the holidays. Last year, we saved about 200 trees from the dump! So, help us spread the word; we want to do even better this year.

There’s a $5 donation requested for each tree. Money raised will support EMAN’s work in the community. (Trees will also be recycled at Norwood Fontbonne Academy in Chestnut Hill from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on the same day.) Please remove all ornaments. No early drop-offs at either location, please. For information call EMAN at 215-247-4170 or e-mail to info@eastmtairy.org
