Eight injured overnight when SUV drives into crowd
Police say a sport utility vehicle drove through a crowd outside a northeast Philadelphia nightclub during a fight, injuring eight women, two critically.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to Studio 98 near the Northeast Philadelphia airport shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday, where a large fight was reported in the parking lot.
She said preliminary information indicates that a group of men and women got into a silver SUV and drove through the crowd, striking a number of people.
Two women were taken to Frankford Hospital-Torresdale in critical condition, while six other women were taken to that hospital and Nazareth Hospital in stable condition.
Police said the SUV was last seen driving away on Bustleton Avenue. No arrests have been made.
