Efforts continue to restore power to Delawareans who lost electricity during Hurricane Irene

Crews are working around-the-clock to restore electricity to Delmarva Power customers who have experienced outages since Hurricane Irene’s arrival over the weekend.

As of late Monday morning, about 14,000 Delmarva Customers had no electricity in the utility’s Delaware service area.  Officials say it could take a long time to get to all of its customers.  During the restoration effort a customer’s service may also go on and off intermittenly.  There is also the potential of additional outages due to weakened trees that may come down.  To report an outage in New Castle County:  1-800-898-8042.  In Kent County and Sussex County, call 1-800-898-8045.  CLICK HERE for additional electric safety information from Delmarva Power.
