Economy League launches study on open space
Study on open space launched
Last month, the Economy League began a first-of-its-kind assessment of the value of protected open space in the five counties of southeastern Pennsylvania. The study will quantify the economic, environmental, and social value of open space, focused on parkland, preserved farmland, and land trust-owned and eased lands.
Commissioned by the GreenSpace Alliance and the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission, the Economy League is leading a consultant team that includes Econsult Corporation, Keystone Conservation Trust, and the US Forest Service. The study’s findings are expected to be released in fall 2010. For more information on this project, contact Josh Sevin.
