Driver who ran Delaware police speed check under arrest

A 24 year old Newark man who ran through a Newark speed check at speeds of 96 miles an hour is under arrest.

Patrick Brogan raced through the check point on Papermill Road early Thursday morning.  Newark police tried to follow Brogan’s car and finally caught up with it only after Brogran lost control and went airborne into the side of home at Winterthur Lane off Papermill Road.

Brogan was charged Friday with one count of driving under the influence, 4 counts of reckless endangering, one count of criminal mischief and one count of speeding.  He was arraigned on $23,600 bail and remains in the Howard R. Young Correctional Institute.

Brogan was the only person in the car at the time of the crash.  No one in the home was injured.
