Two dead after separate shootings in Dover

Two shooting incidents Sunday left two people dead and another injured in Delaware’s state capital.

Dover Police are looking for a red Jeep SUV with Pennsylvania tags believed to be connected with a murder on Sunday afternoon.

A male victim was shot around 4:15 Sunday afternoon in the area of N. Kirkwood St. Investigators have released two surveillance images of what they believe to be the getaway vehicle, a red SUV. The Jeep vehicle may have had a Pennsylvania license plate that starts with the letters “JDP.”

Police ask anyone with information on the vehicle’s location to call 911 or Dover Police at 302-736-7111.

Early morning homicide

Shots rang out earlier in the morning after a party in Dover’s Simon Circle neighborhood. People who had been attending the party in the 300 block of Simon Circle were making their way to their cars when shots rang out around 1:25 a.m.

24-year-old Tyson Henry of New Castle was hit by a bullet. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. A 25-year-old woman was also shot in the lower body. She was last listed in serious but stable condition following surgery. Police say there was no relationship between the victims.

Sunday’s killings mark the second and third murders in the state capital this year. All three murders have happened within a roughly one month span.

The first happened on July 23 when 20-year-old Rashaad Lewis was stabbed during a large fight on S. New St. He died from his injuries on August 11. Shaquille Bolden and Kinon Teat are facing murder charges in connection in that killing.
