Dogs of the Week: Iggy Pup and Reggie

UPDATE 2/16/12 Reggie is now in foster care. Iggy Pup remains at the shelter.
Meet Iggy Pup and Reggie! These two adorable dogs originally came to the shelter the years ago and were adopted to the same family. Unfortunately, they were returned to the
shelter because of a change in living situation. Their family is devastated, as they are both great dogs! Iggy and Reggie obviously love each other and would love to be adopted together again if possible.
Iggy Pup (A07658560) is a beautiful, 5-year-old Pharaoh Hound mix who was originally found as a stray and was taken in by a nice woman who ultimately couldn’t keep her due to financial issues. Iggy was placed in foster care and then adopted by a great family, which is where she met her “brother,” Reggie!
Iggy is a medium-sized girl with adorable pointy ears and golden freckles on her chest. Iggy is already housebroken and knows basic commands like “sit,” “down,” “lay down” and “roll over.” She is very easy to handle and is great on the leash. She loves playing, especially with tennis balls. Though she knows not to jump on people, Iggy will gladly climb up on you for attention if invited. Iggy is very food motivated and stops everything she’s doing if offered a treat.
Iggy loves people and adores getting attention. Iggy lived with small children in her last home and did well with them. She hasn’t paid attention to any of the cats here at the shelter, and did well in all of her dog meets. Please bring your resident dogs down to meet her to make sure its a good match. Iggy is already spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped.
Reggie (A07009151) is a handsome light-brindle American Pit Bull Terrier mix who is roughly 3.5 years old. Reggie originally came to the shelter when he was only 5 months old with a severely broken leg. After a few weeks in a cast, he was adopted to a great family! A couple months after being adopted, he got the best gift in the world – – an adoptive doggie sister named Iggy Pup!
Reggie is not a big dog by any means. He pulls a bit on the leash, but walks well with the help of a harness. Reggie is already housebroken. He is very food motivated, will do anything for a treat and already knows his basic commands like “sit,” “down” and “paw.” He’s great at meeting new people and welcomes all attention!
Reggie is your typical younger brother – he thinks everything belongs to him! Some dogs might not appreciate him trying to take toys away from them, but Iggy doesn’t seem to mind. Have resident dogs at home? Please bring them down to meet him to make sure it’s a good fit. Reggie hasn’t shown interest in cats here in the shelter. Reggie lived with small children in his last home and did well with them.
Reggie is a little stressed out in the shelter environment since the last time he was here was when he was a baby. He’s happiest when his sister Iggy is around. Reggie is already neutered, up to date on vaccinations and is microchipped.
