Dog of the Week: Catina

Cutie alert! This adorable little girl is named Catina (A15916320)! She is a 1- to 2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix who was found as a stray while wandering around a stranger’s backyard.

It’s surprising that no one has come looking for Catina, she’s a sweetheart. She weighs just 34 lbs. and is easy to handle on the leash. It may take her a minute to warm up to her human friends, but it doesn’t take long for her to realize how great new friends are (especially the ones with treats)!

Catina loves to romp around and play, and while she loves to play with toys like tennis balls, she also knows how to give them up nicely. Like most young dogs, she could benefit from additional obedience training. She has no issues with body handling and no issues with food.

Catina showed no interest in cats here at the shelter. She was playful, friendly and appropriate with the dogs she has met here at the shelter, as well. Interested in meeting her? Please come on down to ACCT! Families with children under 6 should bring them along to meet Catina.

These animals are located at Philadelphia’s animal control shelter, ACCT. They need immediate adoption or foster care. ACCT is located at 111 W Hunting Park Ave and is open 365 days a year. Adoption hours are Monday-Friday; 1pm-8pm; Saturday and Sunday; 10am-5pm. To check the status of an animal, call 267-385-3800. Check in every week with NEast Philly to see the cat and dog of the week.
