DNREC announces grants for green projects in NCCo

Nine New Castle County municipalities will receive federal funding to go green
The grant money, ranging from $10 thousand to $500 thousand, is part of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program (EECGB) and will fund projects like HVAC upgrades, lighting retrofits and solar power installations among others.  Some towns will also offer energy efficiency financial incentives programs for residents.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) Secretary Collin O’Mara will announce the grants for energy efficiency improvement projects at a news conference this afternoon.

The event gets underway at 1:30 p.m. at the Delaware City Community Center and Library, 250 Fifth Street, Delaware City, DE.

The towns receiving grants:  Arden, Ardencroft, Ardentown, Bellefonte, Newport, Clayton, Delaware City, Odessa and Townsend.
