Delaware-inspired beers unveiled

Dogfish Head Brewing unveils Delaware-inspired beer.

Governor Markell will join local farmers, entrepreneurs, and some Delaware historians in Rehoboth Beach this afternoon to announce the release of what’s being called a beer with “deep Delaware roots.”  Called DNA or Delaware Native Ale, the beer was made using wild yeast captured at Fifer Orchards.  Barley for the brew was milled at the Abbot’s Mill, an 18th century mill near Milford.  It’s the first time in 50 years the old mill has been used to produce a consumable product.
