Delaware home destroyed by fire

Fire officials are trying to determine the cause of a blaze that destroyed a home at the Ballymeade community in Brandywine Hundred.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire at a townhouse in the 800 block of West Boxborough Drive was first reported around 2:30 Monday afternoon.  The Claymont Fire Company arrived a short time later and found one unit fully engulfed in flames, with the fire extending to three connecting units.

One townhouse was compeltely destroyed by the flames, but there were no injuries.  The Red Cross is helping the victims, who are now without a home just a few days before Christmas.
