Delaware department store robbed

An early morning smash and grab at the Macy’s Department Store, located in the Concord Mall off Rt. 202, is under investigation, as Delaware State Police Troopers search for the suspects.

DSP says troopers were called to the store around 6:25 a.m. Thursday morning for the report of a burglary. A Macy’s employee who was in her office inside the store at the time told police the alarm company called her at 5:15 a.m. saying the alarm from one of the store’s doors was activated.

It was then, DSP says, the employee discovered someone shattered a glass door and pried open the doors to one display case at the jewelry counter, while smashing the glass of several others.

Police say the two suspects, who appeared to be two males dressed in dark clothing, got away with a large amount of jewelry.
