Delaware 7-11 clerk shot to death in robbery

State Police say the victim was shot and killed even though he complied with a pair of robbers orders to hand over cash from the register.

48-year-old Mohammed Rafique Ullah of Newark had given one of the robbers an undisclosed amount of cash in the gunpoint robbery, but that wasn’t enough.

As the masked men fled the store off Route 896 near Glasgow, one of the men turned and fired at least one bullet at Ullah.  The bullet hit the clerk in the upper chest.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened around 12:40 a.m. Wednesday at the convenience store which is adjacent to the Four Seasons Shopping Center.
