Delaware 16-year-old arrested for murder

One teenager is dead, another is behind bars for murder.

16-year-old Matthew Hoskins was arrested Monday for the murder of 19-year-old Quamere Bowden, both of Dover. Hoskins is being held at Stevenson House without bond.

Dover Police were called to the area of South New Street and Reed Street for shots fired yesterday, when they discovered Bowden, who they say, was shot eight times. Using surveillance video from downtown security cameras, investigators determined Hoskins was responsible.

Hoskins was apprehended at his home on N. Governor’s Avenue without incident a couple of hours later. While canvassing the neighborhood, detectives say they also found an AK47 and a stun gun, unrelated to the shooting, in the backyard of a home on S. New Street.
