Philadelphia’s Mendelssohn Club chorus performs songs of the season. Come celebrate the holidays with the voices of one of America’s oldest choruses, Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, as they sing the songs of the season including such well-loved carols as “Silent Night,” “The First Nöel,” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing.” The Grand, December 9th, 3 P.M.

 

Yuletide Jazz & Wine

Enjoy live jazz amongst the festive, decorated trees in the Galleries Reception Area after an evening Yuletide tour. There is no better way to relax and celebrate the season than with a glass of wine, beautiful decorations, and lively jazz music from a unique variety of musicians. Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, December 12th, 6 P.M.

 

Cocoa, Cookies and Story Time

Join the Biggs Museum to enjoy some sweets and hear the classic holiday story ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore. Participants will also create a holiday ornament to hang on the tree at home! Biggs Museum of American Art, December 13th, 5 P.M.

 

 

Read a Movie presents: It’s A Wonderful Life

You think you know it, but discover how Frank Capra and his delightful cast of Hollywood immortals translated the original story (“The Greatest Gift” by Philip Van Doren Stern) into the heartwarming big-screen perennial. You may even want to read the story aloud by a fireside with a plate of holiday cookies! Rehoboth Beach Public Library, December 12th, 4 P.M.
