The car of a Philadelphia councilwoman was stolen over the weekend.  It wasn’t the work  of a criminal mastermind.

The city-issued car of Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown was taken near her home some time before Sunday afternoon when she reported it stolen.

The car was recovered Monday, just outside the city, said Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood. Three suspects were arrested.

Reynolds Brown broke two cardinal rules, Chitwood said.

The councilwoman declined an interview but released a statement saying the thieves must have found a spare key hidden in the car.
