Comcast extends home monitoring service to more Delawareans

Comcast is now offering Xfinity Home, a residential security service to customers in Sussex and Kent counties.

The broadband based system was first introduced to residents in New Castle, Delaware in February. However, it is now available to customers throughout the state. According to spokesperson Tom Coughlin, the system will bring digital home monitoring to a whole new level, by allowing secure live streaming video, when homeowners are away on vacation.

Xfinity Home offers real-time e-mail or text alerts when motion detectors report activity occurring inside or outside of the home. In addition, the service comes with a touch screen computer tablet so people access to the latest weather, news, traffic, and sports scores.

Comcast first unveiled the service in Houston in 2010 and is continuing to offer it to cities across the U.S.
