Christina School District celebrates final state loan payment

Delaware’s Christina School District marks a financial milestone today.

The district in 2006, facing severe financial difficulties, received a state loan to be paid back within five years.  The Christina district made its final loan payment this year, and invites the school community to a celebration this afternoon at 4:00 p.m.  The event will include Delaware Education Secretary Lillian Lowery, a former Superintendent of the Christina School District.  The celebration is being held at Porter Road Elementary School in Bear.
