Chester Upland officials want to speak with Pa. Governor about funding
After being denied $18.7 million in funding by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Chester Upland School Board President Wanda Mann says she wants to hear from Governor Corbett himself on the issue.
The Daily Times reports the letter denying the advance to the school district was written on behalf of Governor Tom Corbett.
The advance was needed to ensure payroll would be met beyond December.
The Daily Times says Mann has gone to the state’s Department of Education several times asking for help and is now going to the Governor.
