Change in Bethany parking considered

The online website coastalpoint.com reports the Bethany Beachy Town Council is considering doing away with angle parking in some parts of town and replacing it with head to head or back in parking.

The idea would be to get rid of the angle parking from the center part of Garfield Parkway to some of the side streets.  The proposal comes from a DelDot grant aimed at improving the Streetscape project.

Coastal Point reports: “As proposed, the new take on the Streetscape plan would begin on the west side of Pennsylvania Avenue and run to the town’s lifeguard station. It would not touch the portion of Garfield Parkway from Pennsylvania Avenue to Route 1, other than a planned resurfacing of the road there.”

There are those who are concerned about how traffic flow will affect pedestrians if angle parking is removed.
