Carney hosts consumer protection forums

Congressman John Carney hosts a pair of consumer protection forums starting this morning in Georgetown.
Carney will meet with residents at the CHEER Community Center from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. along with the Federal Trade Commission’s Derick Rill.  Rill will present tips on preventing identity theft, medical discount scams, and how to stay safe in social media.  “This event, and and the insight of the Federal Trade Commission, will make Delawareans more aware of their rights as consumers and empower them to make smart financial decisions,” says Carney.  Carney and Rill will host a second session at Delaware Tech’s Stanton campus tonight from 7 to 8:30.
