Bottle shatters Delaware fire truck windshield

Delaware State Police are trying to determine who threw a bottle at a fire truck as it responded to a call Thursday night.

 

State Police say members of the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Fire Company of Newark were responding to a call Thursday night when someone threw a glass bottle at the truck. The bottle shattered the truck’s windshield.

The incident happened as the truck traveled along West Chestnut Hill Road near University Avenue in Newark. No one was injured in the attack.

State Police are asking anyone who may have information about the attack or who threw the bottle to call Troop 6 at 302-633-5000. Tips can also be called in to the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-TIP-3333.
