Beautiful weather for NASCAR in Delaware

Thousands of NASCAR fans poured into Dover International Speedway for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race, and with mild temperatures and no rain, the weather provided a perfect backdrop for a day of racing.

A twelve car wreck brought a halt to the race just after it got underway.  The red flag came out on lap nine after a group of cars got into each other on the backstretch coming out of turn two.  It was the only major incident in the race that saw Jimmie Johnson take the checkered flag.

The series next heads to Pocono for next weekend’s races.  The NASCAR circus returns to Dover in September.
