Another Philadelphia mayoral candidate steps forward

There’s another candidate for Philadelphia mayor. That’s six, if you’re keeping track. Eight if you count sort-of-candidates John Street and Tom Knox.

Meet the newest contender: Juan Rodriguez.

Heard in the Hall reported Friday about Rodriguez’s official announcement Saturday. After being knocked off the Democratic ballot in the 7th Council District — where Maria Quinones-Sanchez is up against Danny Savage, the guy she defeated in the last election — Rodriquez decided to shoot for a write-in spot in the mayoral primary.

He joins fellow write-in Queena Bass, incumbent Michael Nutter, Gadhafi adviser John Featherman, GOP candidate Karen Brown and Street brother of the moment Milton.
