Beach gear along the Jersey Shore didn’t get much use during the gloomy workweek, but get ready to bask in the sunshine this weekend.

After a stormy Friday evening, tranquil high pressure system will build into the area Saturday, delivering mostly sunny conditions, the National Weather Service advises. By Sunday, it’s even nicer, with full sunshine.

Temperatures at the Jersey Shore will be in the upper 70s both days, according to the service. And with light winds, you won’t get sandblasted.

The surf will be around two to three feet Saturday before dropping to the one foot range on Sunday, according to magicseaweed.com. While the ocean will be relatively calm — especially on Sunday — rip currents can form at anytime, so always swim near a lifeguard.

But will it be pleasant enough to swim?

Ocean temperatures are now warming, with a buoy off Atlantic City reporting 67.3 degrees Friday morning. It’s slightly cooler to the north and warmer to the south.

So it depends on your tolerance for cooler water.

If you’re heading to Wildwood, bring the pooch along and celebrate the opening of a dog-friendly beach at Poplar Avenue.

    See you on the beach!
