Actor John Cusack to appear at Monster-Mania Con in Cherry Hill
Monster-Mania Con 36 returns to Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cherry Hill, N.J., this weekend. The three-day horror film convention boasts an impressive roster of guest stars, including quirky screen legend, John Cusack.
Cusack is best known for leading roles in Being John Malkovich, Grosse Point Blank and Say Anything.
Also present will be several cast members from the popular Netflix supernatural sci-fi television series, Stranger Things, including Mark Steger, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo.
The convention has more than just horror going for it. Actors Ralph Macchio, Martin Kove and William Zabka will be part of the event’s Karate Kid reunion. Professional wresters Ric Flair, Barry Wyndham, Tully Blanchard and J.J. Dillon will also be available to sign autographs and pose for photos.
Fans of psychological horror classic, The Shining, can meet the film’s child stars Danny Lloyd and twins Lisa and Louise Burns. Kristy Swanson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Louise Fletcher (best known as Nurse Ratched from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest) and Wilford Brimley (The Thing, Cocoon, The China Syndrome) are among the other numerous confirmed guests.
This year’s gathering will feature a live concert. Composer Alan Howarth will perform music from the Halloween film series, as well as scores from They Live, Escape From New York and others.
Don’t forget to come dressed to kill for the Saturday night costume contest.
Tickets ($60 for a weekend pass, $30 for a day pass) are available at the door.
