AAA Warns of Rising Gas Prices

With the price of a barrel of oil approaching $90, officials at AAA Mid-Atlantic say a jump in price at the pumps could be next.

The cost of a barrel of oil hit $86.85 on Friday, the highest price since October 2008 when trading closed at $88.95 a barrel.  “One week into November, gas prices are holding steady, but how long will pump price stability last,” said Jana Tidwell, Public Affairs Specialist for AAA Mid-Atlantic.  “Crude oil prices reached 2010 highs last week, which will likely translate to slightly higher gas prices in the week ahead, as gas prices typically follow crude oil trends.”
