University City Review: Grooms, not go-go girls, at 40th and Filbert

Nicole Contosta reports that at a public meeting convened by Councilwoman Blackwell, the applicant for a zoning variance for 20 North 40th Street in West Philadelphia asserted he filled out his application incorrectly, accidentally applying for use of an “adult cabaret” instead of a banquet hall for weddings and other parties.  Though residents attending the meeting were skepitcal, the applicant assured them he will re-apply for the variance and has no intention of opening an adult business.
