The Central Delaware Riverfront Planning Process continues with the work of refining the designs developed in last month’s design workshop, and we continue with our regularly scheduled public meetings.  A brief update is below.
 
Advisory Group Meeting (see photo, above)
 
The Central Delaware Riverfront Advisory Group met this morning for its monthly meeting and discussed issues important to the process.  The agenda included a conversation on the effect of the casino ballot measure on the planning process and a general project progress report.   Check out PlanPhilly for the full story: http://www.planphilly.com/node/1321
 
Upcoming Events
 
April will be an important month for planning and development-related issues in Philadelphia, especially since so many will be on the May 15 primary ballot.  Upcoming events include:
 
April 6: Drexel University conference “The Technological Future of the Industrial City: Philadelphia in the 21st century.”   Speakers include Anne Whitson Spirn of MIT, Rachel Weinberger of Penn, and Richardson Dilworth of Drexel.  Paul Peck Alumni Center, 3142 Market Street.
 
April 9: Philadelphia mayoral candidates forum sponsored by the Design Advocacy Group.  The event will be held in Montgomery Auditorium of the Free Library’s central branch, 1901 Vine Street, 5:30pm-7:30pm.
 
April 14-18: Philadelphia hosts the American Planning Association’s 2007 National Planning Conference, which will feature over 200 conference sessions, workshops, and seminars.  The keynote speaker is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.  Click here for more information: http://www.planning.org/2007conference/
