10-year-old shot, killed in Asbury Park

Investigators are on the scene of a shooting in Asbury Park that left a 10-year-old boy dead and a 39-year-old woman wounded.
The shooting occurred around 11 p.m. Wednesday on Ridge Avenue.
There is no word on the woman’s condition. News 12 reported that the woman, who is expected to survive, is the child’s mother.
Evidence markers are visible outside a home Thursday.
There is no word whether police have made an arrest. Two suspects fled on foot, police told News 12.
A message seeking information from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office was not returned.
Authorities ask anyone with information to call the Monmouth County Crime Stoppers confidential telephone tip-line at 1-800-671-4400 or text “MONMOUTH” plus the tip to 274637.
Monmouth County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
