1 of 2 suspects in Asian-owned business robberies jailed

One of two suspects in a string of robberies targeted Asian-owned businesses is in custody and has been charged in the case, according to Philadelphia police.

Norman Bowen, 29, was charged Tuesday with criminal conspiracy, robbery, theft, burglary and other counts in connection with 11 robberies between May 3 and Aug. 1.

Police allege that Bowen and another man targeted closed businesses attached to the owners’ residences, stealing cigarettes, jewelry, money and electronics while holding the victims at gunpoint.

Police are still searching for the second suspect, 33-year-old Anthony Campbell.
