The new Surgeon General’s report says smoking claims 480,000 lives every year and causes diseases including diabetes, arthritis, liver cancer, and erectile dysfunction.  This hour, a look at smoking trends, policies and prevention.  We start by grading the states on their anti-tobacco programs and policies — DEB BROWN, Chief Executive Officer for the American Lung Association of the Mid Atlantic, gives low marks to Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Then, how do you get people to quit and change bad health behaviors?  KEVIN VOLPP, Director of the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics and JOSEPH CAPPELLA, Professor of Communication at the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania talk about the incentives, messages and practices that help people live healthier lives.
