Flipping the classroom

Teachers around the country are experimenting with the “flipped classroom.” It’s become a big buzzword in education over the last few years. The idea is basically flipping homework and traditional classwork so that students watch a lecture at home and do their homework in school. The proliferation of free online education content has fueled the flipped model and proponents say it allows better interaction and engagement between students and teachers. This hour, we’ll explore the idea of flipping the classroom with JUSTIN REICH, a Fellow at the Berkman Center for internet and Society at Harvard University and RICHARD HALVERSON, a Professor in the School of Education at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
