What’s up in Iowa?

Listen 00:48:43

Guests: Richard Manning, Jason Noble

On this week’s edition of Ballot Talks: we’ll talk about the fields, both presidential and corn, in Iowa. The caucuses are just four days away and are among the most influential in determining which candidates will face off in the general election. We begin the show by speaking with agriculture and environmental writer RICHARD MANNING about the influence that local politics and big agricultural companies have on the presidential race. He recently wrote a piece on the topic for Harper’s Magazine called “The Trouble with Iowa.” Then, we’ll talk with JASON NOBLE, political reporter for The Des Moines Register, about the varying styles of campaigning that the candidates have employed, about the expected turnout, and how the Iowa caucuses are actually run.
