Today is National Opt-Out Day for many American travelers fed up with what they see as intrusive airport screening techniques. The Transportation Security Administration’s new full-body scans have provoked outrage around the country, hitting a nadir when a YouTube camera-phone recording of a scan-resister warning a TSA agent not to “touch my junk” went viral. Joining us to talk about the TSA, full-body scans, privacy vs. security are MARC ROTENBERG, executive director of the Electronic Privacy Information Clearinghouse, whose lawsuit tried to stop the new scans; JAMES FALLOWS, National Correspondent for The Atlantic; and YOSSI SHEFFI, director of MIT’s Center for Transportation and Logistics.
