The TSA and air travel this summer

Listen 00:48:44

Guests: Ron Nixon, Scott McCartney

Thousands of travelers have missed their flights in recent months because of long security lines at airports. Furious passengers as a well as a report highlighting serious TSA screening lapses have sparked Congress to investigate the agency.   Top TSA administrator Peter Neffenger told the congressional committee last week that even with management changes and more screeners, long waits will continue this summer because of a record number of travelers. This hour, we check-in on the Transportation Security Administration — its funding, management and effectiveness — with New York Times reporter RON NIXON.  Then, if you do make it through security and to the gate – will you have a good flight?  Marty gets an update on the airlines from the Wall Street Journal’s SCOTT MCCARTNEY who writes the “Middle Seat Column.”
