The Sony hack and the foreign policy implicatons

The crisis involving the Sony Pictures hack and the studio’s decision to cancel the release of “The Interview” continues to escalate with wide ranging ramifications. The United States has formally accused North Korea of launching the cyberattack against Sony and President Obama has promised a “proportional” response. The North Koreans have denied responsibility and yesterday threatened strikes against the U.S. This hour, we examine this evolving story in three parts. First we discuss Sony’s decision to pull the film and the effect it is having in Hollywood and on the film industry with ANDREW WALLENSTEIN, Co-Editor-in-Chief for VARIETY. Then, we look at the growing foreign policy problem with KATHARINE MOON, senior fellow at the Center for East Asia Policy Studies at The Brookings Institution.
