The NRA files lawsuits against three Pennsylvania cities

Listen

Guests: Jonathan Goldstein and Shira Goodman

One of former-Governor Tom Corbett’s last actions as Pennsylvania’s top office-holder was to sign a bill that would allow the National Rifle Association to sue municipalities that attempt to pass restrictions on firearms that are more stringent than the state’s requirements. Now, the NRA is seizing the opportunity and has filed lawsuits against Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Lancaster, and have stated that they have plans to go after other Pennsylvania towns in the future. We’ll hear from JONATHAN GOLDSTEIN, the lawyer and gun-rights activist who is representing the NRA in these lawsuits, and from SHIRA GOODMAN, executive director of CeaseFirePA, a Pennsylvania-based coalition committed to reducing gun violence.
