Guests: Elizabeth Bernstein and Frank Warren
Do you have a secret you’ve never shared? Are you good at keeping secrets? There are good secrets (like a surprise party) and bad secrets and chances are at some point in our lives, each of us has struggled with the inner conflict caused by withholding or disclosing a secret. In fact, research tells us that, depending upon its intensity, keeping a secret can be detrimental to our emotional and physical health. Why do we keep certain secrets to ourselves, when should we share them, and what do our secrets tell about us? ELIZABETH BERNSTEIN writes about all aspects of human interaction for the Wall Street Journal’s “Bonds” column. FRANK WARREN is the creator of The PostSecret Project, a collection of personal, artful postcards mailed to him anonymously on which people write their secrets. Bernstein and Warren join us in this hour of Radio Times to talk all about secrets.
