Listen 00:48:43

Guest: Robert Brooks

As the new school year begins, we’ll talk about how to help children deal with adversity – in the classroom, in social settings and at home. Our guest, psychologist ROBERT BROOKS has been studying the role resiliency plays in helping children cope with challenges, bounce back from difficult situations and work through their problems. He says it’s about parents and teachers helping children develop self-esteem and confidence. Brooks is on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and is the author of several books including Raising a Self-Disciplined Child: Help Your Child Become More Responsible, Confident and Resilient.
