Listen

Guests: Lauren Sandler, Lenore Skenazy, and Christina Baker Kline

Today on Radio Times in Review, we bring you three stories about childhood and growing up. First, we’ll hear Marty’s conversation with journalist LAUREN SANDLER about being an only child with an only child. Her book, One and Only: The Freedom of Having an Only Child, and the Joy of Being One, was released in 2013. Then, we’ll listen to Marty’s 2009 interview with author and columnist LENORE SKENAZY on the Free Range Kids movement. Currently, Skenazy is featured in a 13-part series on the Discovery Life Channel called “World’s Worst Mom.” In it, she introduces over-protected children to a number of activities that were once prevented by their anxious parents. We’ll round out the hour with Marty’s recent conversation with CHRISTINA BAKER KLINE on her novel Orphan Train. The book is the Free Library of Philadelphia’s “One Book, One Philadelphia” 2015 selection.
