Listen 00:49:45

Guests: Diana Reiss, Frans de Waal, Robert Seyfarth, Dorothy Cheney, James Serpell

On today’s show, we’re going to take a peek inside the minds of animals. First, we’ll talk about the psychology of dolphins with DIANA REISS, author of Dolphin in the Mirror: Exploring the Minds and Saving Dolphin Lives. We’ll also listen to Marty’s conversation with primatologist FRANS DE WAAL about animal intelligence who joined us earlier this year to discuss his book Are We Smart Enough to Know how Smart Animals Are? And lastly,  a look at animal friendships – how their relationships develop and what their friendships look like.  We spoke with University of Pennsylvania primatologists ROBERT SEYFARTH and DOROTHY CHENEY, as well as animal interaction expert and veterinarian JAMES SERPELL.
