Hour 1

This week our political roundup hones in on the city of Philadelphia. Guest host TRACEY MATISAK welcomes JEFF SHIELDS, City Hall reporter for target=”_blank” and contributor to the Inky’s Heard in the Hall blog, and ELMER SMITH, columnist for the Philadelphia Daily News, into the studio. They’ll talk about Mayor Michael Nutter’s proposed budget, which includes new controversial taxes on sugary drinks and trash collection. They will also discuss proposed and already happening changes to city offices, including the Ethics Board, the Board of Revision of Taxes and the Clerk of Quarter Sessions. And they will also chat about casino gambling, including the recent high-profile entrance of casino mogul Steve Wynn into the Foxwoods picture.
