Perseid Peaking

Perseid Meteor Shower peaks this week. – Weds night, Thurs night, Fri night. No moon this year, so it should be much easier to observe at dark sky location outside Center City, Philadelphia.

If comet 67P is any indicator of the true nature of comets, then comets are quite a bit different from how we’ve envisioned them up to now. Complex organic compounds formed and operating in -230F to -290F temps suggest comets could possibly have been a delivery system to young earths.

Saturn still has command of the SW sky after sunset but it will set by midnight. Mars however has the low eastern sky just an hour before sunrise.
