New Jersey politics roundup

Listen

Guests: Darryl Isherwood, Matt Katz

A poll out last week gives Newark Mayor Cory Booker a double digit lead in New Jersey’s Democratic primary. With just three weeks until vote, the Quinnipiac University survey shows Booker capturing 52 percent of the vote; Rep. Frank Pallone, 10 percent; Rep. Rush Holt, eight percent; Assembly speaker Sheila Oliver, three percent. Booker will likely face former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan in the special election for the late Senator Frank Lautenberg’s U.S. Senate seat this October. Governor Chris Christie is also campaigning for his re-election this November against Democratic challenger state Senator Barbara Buono.   Joining Marty to discuss the Garden State politics are DARRYL ISHERWOOD, editor of New Jersey’s influential political blog, PolitickerNJ.com and MATT KATZ, staff writer for the Philadelphia Inquirer who writes the blog the “Christie Chronicles.”
